Class: Tai Chi

Description: Tai Chi Chu’an is an ancient Chinese martial
art developed from observation of animals and the natural
world. It is practiced as a series of graceful movements derived
from those of the snake and crane. Tai Chi increases clarity,
balance, and awareness. Each motion has both a healing
function in Chinese theory, and a martial application
as well as deeper meanings far beyond what is evident on the
surface. Rhythm, breathing, focus, and intensity are essential to
mastering the Tai Chi form. Superior practice of the form helps
you understand your body and gain confidence in its
capabilities. As a system it has many different exercises to
draw from, making it a more than suitable workout for any age
group (provided they can stand). It is great for seniors because
it is practiced in a natural relaxed manner without pushing
extremes and is designed to be practiced through old age
maintaining health and well being.
