Disabled Students
Students with disabilities may be offered reasonable accommodations such as

be prepared to provide an Individual Education Plan (IEP) from a recognized

Campus Security
NYIM is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment. NYIM generates a
“Campus Crime Report” annually, detailing its procedures and any crimes that may
have occurred on campus (in compliance with the Crime Awareness and Campus
Security Act of 1990). This report is also filed with the U.S. Department of
Education. Each student is provided a copy of the procedures and current report
during their orientation, prior to attendance. Any potential applicant for
employment or enrollment can request, in writing, a copy of the report from the
Financial Aid Director.
NYIM utilizes a video surveillance system. This system is in place for the
protection of our students and employees. It is designed to prevent and/or
document any theft or potential untoward or unprofessional behavior. If any such
things are reported or documented, the video documentation allows NYIM to take
swift and decisive action so as to protect our students and employees to the
fullest extent possible. Video surveillance is operational in the classrooms,
the entrance, bookstore, computer lab and the main office area. When instituting
the system, NYIM kept the privacy of its students and staff an utmost concern.
No cameras are in place in the changing rooms, the clinic rooms or the 12
bathrooms, nor will they be. Any questions or concerns with regard to the video
surveillance should be addressed to the Director, Diane Dinsmore.
Housing
NYIM does not provide housing. However, there are many rental facilities in the
area. Please call the Admissions Office for further information and a list of
local housing sources.
